I am going to keep this short and not rant...

I love NCAA 11 but its July 2010 and we still dont have a football game that:

* Allows me to worry about getting my punt or FG blocked or for that matter block anything...

* Make me care about a penalty other than holding or clipping...why cant we get a few PI calls thrown in??

I feel like they should just take out holding and clipping altogether. Why have penalties you can't possibly control that are seemingly given out at random. That's one thing I really like about the FIFA games. There's no handballs and you don't have to worry about the keeper giving a free kick in the box by picking up the ball when he shouldn't

I was just thinking the other day that at least one thing that seems real is the number of penalties I see on kicking plays.

When watching football in real life I just shake my head at the number or holds or blocks in the back on kick-offs or punts. Seems that clipping just takes the place of blocks in the back in NCAA11.

Yeah I think it's pathetic when it's next to impossible to block a field goal or punt.

ST and Penalties Have been a complete afterthought for years. But at least the gameplay is spot on.

Thru SEVERAL dynasty games...I have NEVER had a K/P returned against me (not even close actually) nor have I had a K/P return for a TD....Did have a couple over 40 yrds...Most i got on a Punt was 33 and the most the CPU ever got was 47 on a KR. Dont think the CPU ever returned a punt for more than 15-20 yds.

In regards to kick/punt returns, it appears to me that there is a "warp" animation by defenders at a certain point that brings them into the Punt Returner in particular, like they are a missile.

There is usually just no way to avoid it, even if there is a blocker between the returner and the gunner, if the gunner gets to within about 5 yards they seem to just fly at the returner very fast and right past the blocker.

Middle return seems to mitigate this to some extent, for some reason.

EA said they'd never model penalties accurately in a game because they have found most users do NOT WANT THEM.

I've been playing NCAA Football since 98, and never once do I recall seeing a blocked FG or punt.
