Recruiting at the end of the season.

What is the best thing to do at the end of the season for recruiting? At the start of the season I pick out my 15-20 recruits I really want, but by week 10-11 usually at least half of them have committed either to me or another school, and the rest are close. By the time I reach week 14-15 and off-season recruiting, all my guys are committed and I have nothing to do.

Should I just go recruit players I don't need for the sake of having guys to recruit? Or should I just sit back and do nothing since I already got all the guys I wanted? Typically by the end of the season, the only guys left to recruit are either not very good compared to my current players or at positions I already have 2-3 recruits from.

Every decent recruit you can sign is one your rivals can't, whether or not you truly need them. That has always been my philosophy on recruiting in this game.

Does anybody with a sub-par team have ANY success recruiting any decent players in the off season recruiting? Seems like it's just an opportunnity for powerhouses to stock up more talent on top of what they have..

Yeah, I have a top team, and those players are definitely only going to be signed by a 5 or 6 star prestige team.

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.

Yeah, it sorta sucks. They only introduce new 4 and 5 star players, leaving a 3 star or lower team to sit there with nothing to do. I don't see why they don't have new prospects for lower schools to go after.

Re: Recruiting at the end of the season.

personally, I don't try to recruit more players than I have leaving. I just recruit until I reach 70. sometimes I get up to 72-73, but forced to cut some players, which I usually restrict myself to only cutting from the newly recruited class.

I usually follow the rule about only cutting new recruits, too. Basically, I divide the team into 5 classes (seniors, juniors, sophs, freshmen, redshirts) and only allow myself to actually keep about 15 dudes each year, unless I have more open spots than that due to players leaving early or transferring.

But that doesn't change the fact that I still sign as many players as possible, regardless of need, because then other teams can't have them. Maybe that isn't very sporting on my part, but with the recruit progression last year, they still had plenty of quality anyway in most cases.
