Correct me if im wrong, but it seems like the gameflow feature that is in madden this year would prevent the cpu psychic playcalling.

The posts right above you pretty much says it all. There is no way that the cpu should be calling a 4-3 against 5 wide, let alone consecutively. Ive tested this out in several ways, its a broken element of the game. If you call a spread pass play you will always see nickel and dime, you never accidentally see 4-3, so the only reason that you would see the opposite is becuase the cpu is reading your plays.

Assuming you create a defensive gameplan and have the CPU run it, then yes, it should help.

Of course that's rhetorical but there's no way to validate a point by saying it happened once or by saying "it happens too much".

Have any of you actually been offensive or defensive coordinators in real life?

Do you realize there are times in real life (in nearly every game) when a coordinator goes through a stretch where they are "in the head" of the opposing coordinator.

I just don't get it... how do you quantify what is too much if you've never done this in real life?
No man, it literally happens every time, except on 3rd and long, and even then it happens the majority of the time. This has always, ALWAYS been my biggest issue with the Madden/NCAA games, it's the epitome of unrealistic. I'll definitely try lowering the CPU Defensive Aggressiveness like someone said, hopefully that will work.

Re: So I just came out in a 5 WR set...

I'm going to extend on this a little bit. these 2 things are even worse than the 5 WR run blitz.

With 5 seconds left in the game I'm at my own 20 yard line. I call a halfback screen. Rather than come out in a prevent defense like anyone in real life would do 100% of the time, the CPU calls MAN COVERAGE.

Later that same game, on 4th and 3 I call a fake punt run. Rather than come out in a punt return or punt block formation, they come out in a 3-3-5 and stuff me. I hadn't attempted a fake punt in well over 10 games.

Re: So I just came out in a 5 WR set...

I tested some things out some more last night.

I came out 4 wide (2 on each side) and a HB to the right of the QB.
I had called a draw in the huddle.
When I came to the line the CPU defense had 8 in the box.
I audibled to a passing play and the linebackers went back out of the box and the safety
moved 10 yards back and to the right. I thought ok. So, I audibled back to a draw.
All the linebackers then moved back into the box and the safety moved back up 10 yards and right behind the linebackers. I thought there is no way this is for real. So, I then audibled back to a passing play and all the linebackers moved back out of the box again and the safety moved back 10 yards from where he was and to the right.

No doubt the CPU knows if your running or passing, but stopping you is another story.

Well, in a case like this I say rip the CPU apart by audibling at the right time. EA will figure it out next year.

Re: So I just came out in a 5 WR set...

So this is why whatever slider settings I use if I call a play from 4 or 5 wide I always have a receiver open down the middle ?

Whenever I use vertical routes and pass over the middle I have a man open. Many times i'm 3rd and 15 and can get an easy first down.

Why aren't the cpu defenders expecting pass ?

Does changing defensive gameplans in dynasty really help ?
