I mean dont get me wrong I have seen a few but the majority of my big runs always come on plays that are bounced outside from the get-go. I just watched Chris Johnson, Adrian Peterson, and LaMichael James' highlight videos and i feel like in those videos there are a lot more runs to the inside where they break it long. Im just trying to think of why this holds to be true. Maybe there arent enough blocking animations? A momentum issue or warp tackling issue? I dont know for sure.

If anyone has some insight or has thought about this please feel free to chime in.

I havent had any problems with inside running. I feel that I do better running the ball inside than outside.

Same. Thats were my big runs come from. Especially ISO

I have no problem running up the middle.

Granted, I run I-Form. I haven't tried running up the gut out of Ace or Shotgun or anything.

I roll with Kentucky's playbook, so I don't have a problem running the ball up the gut out of the I, Strong, and Weak formations. The key is to be patient and once you get past the first line to see where the closest defenders are and prepare to shuck 'em. After that, goodbye grandpa. Touchdown.

And as far as out of Ace or Shotgun. I haven't found great success with SG, but out of ace it's easier if you set up the run with the pass, and then run things like Isos out of 3+ WR sets that spread the defense. You can get some massive gains when your ace formations spread things out.

It can also depend on the team. What teams do you roll with?

I've had no problems running the ball on a inside running plays. Doesn't matter if I am in shotgun, I-Form or other formations.
