NBA 2k10 has perhaps the best commentary I've heard in a video game. And EA's NHL series is close behind. This game should have learned from those titles.

Spanky - MBL10 The Show IMO has the best commentary by far. It's like watching a real game.

The whole presentation is awesome on MLB10; it was difficult to go back to watching a real game after playing that nonstop for a month. Very sharp. There were a few things that drove me up the wall (I'm a Tacoby Ellsbury fan, but I got sick of hearing Soup's canned speech everytime I tried to bunt with him) but overall a very polished game.

NCAA11 is OK, but not great. I love when there's a holding call on a kickoff return and Herbie goes into his canned speech about "sometimes you have to hold to protect the QB." That's nice, but it was a special teams play...the QB was watching on the sideline.

Also, as the season progresses, Kirk and co. should have a decent grip on the season. If two conference teams meet up half-way through the season undefeated ... why not mention that it's an IMPORTANT game? If a backup QB is starting due to an injury to the starter, why not include that in the start-game commentary? And if a true dark horse wins the NC? Have a couple of scripted endings for it! Not the standard, "There were many doubters along the way but they proved them wrong."

After playing just one season, you will have heard almost everything.

Anyway, with all this said ... I'd settle for Kirk not saying, "I'm really impressed with how this kid has been throwing the ball in this game" after his FIRST pass of the contest! Or, after a ball is tipped at the line of scrimmage and intercepted ... mention that it was tipped and NOT "poorly thrown". That stuff is just inexcusable.
Agree with this post a billion percent, and you didn't even mention how rankings are completely ignored as well. You'd think it'd be pretty much common sense to have Nessler mention it at some point if the game matches up two top-10 teams for example; or if I knock off the #1 team in the nation, or if I beat a top-10 team as an unranked team, can I get a mention of this? Sheesh.
