CPU recruiting settings effectiveness

Do these even do anything? I usually let the CPU do my recruiting because doing it myself tends to burn me out on a dynasty if I do it myself, but in 11 the CPU is not doing even remotely what I want. To illustrate, in my next year I'll need primarily linebackers and safties, and I have absolutely no need for QBs and receivers, so preseason I set the position balance to low for QB and WR and high for S and LB. Then after two weeks I check the recruiting board to see what I've got, and the CPU is recruiting three QBs, eight receivers, one free safety, one strong safety, and one middle linebacker. I don't remember the CPU totally ignoring me like that in past years' games. Is this probably an isolated incident, or should I expect this consistently if I leave the CPU to its own devices?

Sorry but the CPU can't effectively recruit for you. Those sliders don't do jack. If you do your own recruiting though, you can get some really good players. I would start on varsity though.

I know, I've done it on a few dynasties but it takes so long each week that I end up getting tired of the whole dynasty. In past games the CPU would at least give me the right personnel so that I could field a team each year. Oh well, thanks for the tip!
