I call quick slants just to get the 1st down and try to run the clock out. I get -50 for "running it up". All I'm trying to do is run the clock out...
This happens to me constantly...on 1st and 2nd down runs, then on 3rd and longer then 5 I try and do a quick pass and get dinged -50 pts...COMPLETELY RIDICULOUS.

At this point, I am trying to see how many negative points I can get for sportsmanship in a game....

Nothing at all. If I get the opportunity to put 80 up an an FCS team, I'm taking it. Just like teams do in real life.

What does negative sportsmanship do to your team? Does it hurt your coach prestige or ranking in the polls?

My suggestion would be that they should make it so if you have mass subbed it negates negative sportsmanship.

It's been said a million times, but my god EA, real teams aren't running the ball on 3rd and 15 just because they're up a few scores.

Re: What's so bad about running up the score in an offline dynasty?

Generally I don't like running up the score, even against the CPU, but in my Wazzu dynasty, I so rarely dominate that I will run up the score when I'm given the opportunity...again that is a rare feat, most of my wins are by a TD or less and of course a win is no guarantee.

I did run it up a little bit the other day beating UCLA 42-17. Most points I've scored in my dynasty and this was in year 3.

So yeah. I don't have a problem with it since it's the CPU.

If it's a offline dynasty, which it always is for me, I run it up as much as I feel like. I play on AA with some hard sliders, so it's hard for me to run up the score, but when I do, I'm gonna let myself feel good for a while about it.

In the end though, it's your game. Nobody will hate you for running it up on YOUR local machine. Except the CPU. And the CPU can screw you big time. See: BCS Ratings.

I like this idea a lot actually. I mean, IRL when a teams backup QB comes in the coach uses that as an opportunity to get him some valuable game experience and he throws the ball. We don't get to do that with NCAA 11. Well, unless you don't care about negative sportsmanship points.
