Arizona PlayBook Guide

Ace Twin Te
Base play: Strong Curls

Pre-Reads
Motion WR on the side with the 2 TE's across the field
-If zone, motion the wr back his original position
-if in man, keep him on the side where you motioned him to.
Look and see how many people are in the box
-If there are 7 or more people and it's a man defense.
--Audibles. Make make the man you motioned go on a streak route. Make X WR Run a drag. Make triangle & L1 block for extra protection.
---Reads: With Square & Circle lining up on the same side and both running deep routes, gives X wr running the drag a lot of room. So wait until both WR's clear 20 yards then hit X for a good gain.
-If there are 7 or more people in the box and it's a zone defense.
--Audibles. Motion the X WR out so he leaves the LOS. Make X WR run a slant to the sideline. Make L1 run a slant to the middle of the field. Block Triange.
---Reads: In a zone defense the defender guards an area, not a man, so wait until L1 goes out of the zone coverage(Develops in 3-4 seconds.). He will be open for a big gain almost everydown.
-If there are 6 or less people in the box and it's a man/zone defense.
--Audible into a run.(Square then down on the right stick). Then reverse the play so your run goes to the side where all the TE”s are. Motion the WR on the side with the TE's and hike the ball once he reaches the TE's. This is just a simple run good for a solid gain when the D lines up with 6 or less in the box.

Base play: TE Stick

-If there are 7 or more people and it's a man defense.
--Audibles. No audibles.
---Reads: As you see, X is running a quick hook pattern. Pretend to scan the field, but once you see X finish his pattern, throw it to him for a 4-5 yard gain. If the D starts keying on the quick pass, then send X on a slant to the sideline(but you should never have to use this, because the quick pass is usually there.)
-If there are 7 or more people in the box and it's a zone defense.
--Audbiles. Motion L1 to the opposite side of the field where he was. Make him run a drag route. Keep your eyes on L1 the whole way, once you see him about to go by where X is running a route, you'll notice the Defender has a choice to make, either shift to guard L1 or to stay covering X. Usually, he'll defend L1, so you have a quick pass to X for a 4-5 yard gain. If he doesn't, just look at L1 for a 3-4 yard gain.

Shotgun: Normal Y-Slot

Base Play: Y Shallow Cross

Pre-Reads
Look and see how many people are in the box
-If there are 7 or more people and it's a man defense. Motion circle WR as far as he can go to the left.
Vs a Man Defense
--Audibles. No Audibles
---Reads: X coming on the drag over the middle. And if you wait long enough, Triangle running his “In” route over the middle. But I don't like hitting that pattern, just because it takes a long time to develop.
Vs a Zone Defense(Cover 3)
--Audibles. No Audibles.
---Reads: Triangle running his “In” route over the middle. But you need to have a quick read on this, if you throw it to late I can be picked off. My advice is as SOON as you seem him pass the 2ND Lb, throw it.
