Throwing to Outside Receivers...

Is basically impossible. I havent had any luck yet. Any tips? And I also find it hard to throw good routes against the coverages they work against because every player on the CPU defense is Darelle Revis and has arms that can stretch from the hash marks to the sidelines..

Re: Throwing to Outside Receivers...

Yeah, the wide-outs are pretty tough to hit unless they come over the middle of the field. My slot receivers and tight ends end up getting more receptions than my #1 and #2 receivers do...which is kind of backwards.

I don't have problem with this, I throw the ball when the WRs are making their cuts.

that's because they're always wide open.

the outside receivers are fun to hit on streak routes against the cover 2, slants/curls in the cover 3, and drags in man... they're always open, just read the defense and be patient in the pocket

Yes that's what I was getting at. That's the flaw, the slot guy will almost always be open or one-on-one.

It doesn't matter how patient I am, the wide-outs are seemingly always double/triple covered. Streaks are about the only thing I can do to get my wide guys receptions and that just feels cheesy if I run it too often. I've ran this in practice over and over against various defenses, more times than not I'm seeing the same thing over and over...whether I read the D right or not.
It's one of the few gripes I have about this game.

Re: Throwing to Outside Receivers...

On the rare occasion that they are one on one in man or the corner over them blitzes, you can get the ball to them on posts or fly routes...

The slants and drags, obviously work...

The hook routes are too dangerous, IMO...

Also:

I like to use formation subs to get some of my outside guys in the slots to balance out the pass distribution...

Re: Throwing to Outside Receivers...

I haven't had too many issues with outside WRs, they are usually leading my team in catches for me. slants, post, out/in routes, screens, etc... all work for me. my current QB has 95 THA and 93 THP though.

the hook/curl routes are dangerous when defense is in man, but in zone they work pretty well.
