Re: Four Verticals

what i do against this play is run nickel qb spy and drop the DBs back and Lbs in and then use the LB whose spying to cover which ever receiver is more open it works well to get picks

4 Verticals is straight up Wisconsin Cheddar, rolled in Mozzarella, with a Parmesan Crust.

In fact, ant youte that calls for a vertical route by an interior receiver has been houseruled out by me along with any 5 WR sets.

Has to be that way, or you might as well be the Velveeta spokesperson.

The CPU is his friend?

Is it a cheat? My friend runs it a lot, so I'm trying to find sliders for our dynasty so that it's not an automatic completion for him but I can't seem to find any. How can I fix this? Because whenever he needs a 1st, he can just run 4-verticals and it's there.

I think that's what the veteran meant.

But no, the CPU is most definitely not my friend

Re: Four Verticals

House-rule it out for CPU games. That's all I can offer. The only time I'll call it is if I have less than 15 seconds in the half or game (ie close to hail mary situation).

QB accuracy down to five will also help. You tone down the cpu coverage (barely) and put your WR catching (in gameplan) on conservative and you'll see pretty realistic passing numbers.

What do you recommend tuning CPU coverage to? Also should I tune down INTs since there will likely be a lot of INT opportunities for the CPU?

Re: Four Verticals

Here's my sliders (varsity difficulty; gamespeed normal; speed thresh hold zero). This is for a spread option-oriented offense versus the CPU in an offline dynasty. It is essentially playmakers' sliders tweaked for running the option and for playing on normal speed

under gameplan, put strip ball, big hit and the 2 bottom things on defense to conservative. offensive gameplan, put wr catching on conservative.

These tend to give very realistic results for me. My only complaint/issue is that I tend to give up a ton of yardage to the CPU through the air (often in garbage time, but not always) and almost always am in the bottom half of the country in pass defense. I think I'm going to up my pass coverage for a season and see how things go.

Here are my passing stats over the past 2 seasons

My QB has 82 thp, 78 tha and 80 awa (he's a true scrambler).
2011: 14 games: 157/286 (55.1%) 2,204 yds 15 td 13 int; 128.3 rat
2012: 9 games: 85/162 (52.5%) 1,393 yds 7 td 5 int; 132.8 rat

Note that I run 75 to 80% of the time.
