My simulations of the 2010 bowl seasons-NCAA 11

I know almost half of the bowl games have been played already, but I want to do a CPU-CPU simulation of each bowl matchup for the 2010-11 season. I will post a recap of each bowl game. First up, the New Mexico bowl, pitting BYU of the Mountain West vs UTEP of the Conference USA.

Re: My simulations of the 2010 bowl seasons-NCAA 11

BYU came in as big favorites, but the score was closer than experts predicted.
UTEP Miners at BYU Cougars
Dec 18, 20101234F
UTEP Miners0610016
BYU Cougars1007623

BYU scored on their first possession with a field goal, and their second saw them scoring a touchdown. Then in the second quarter, BYU watched UTEP hit two field goals, cutting the lead to 4 at halftime, 10-6. Then in the second, BYU would get their second touchdown pass from QB Jake Heaps. Next possession, UTEP's Trevor Vittatoe would lead them all the way down to the 2, where BYU's defense toughened up, forcing UTEP to take a field goal, which they did. After each team traded punts, Jake Heaps threw an Interception, and Vittatoe would lead UTEP down for a touchdown at the end of the third. In the fourth, after each team again traded punts, Heaps would pull it together and once again lead BYU down the field, and they would kick a field goal. Then, on fourth and 16, Vittatoe would be forced out of the pocket, and overthrew a wide open reciever downfield. BYU would get another field goal, and thats how it would end up. BYU wins the New Mexico bowl, 23-16.

Sorry about the lack of stats, accidently exited without recording them. The next game will have them.

Fresno State came in as a the favorite, and didn't prove the predictors wrong. They flat out dominated the Chandler Harnish-led Northern Illinois team. A good game for their defense set the tone for the offense, as they scored 14 points-off-turnovers. In the first quarter, a rushing touchdown for RB A.J. Ellis was the first score in the game. Next possession, a Chandler Harnish touchdown pass to FB Kyle Scarb capped off a 9 play, 72 yard drive for NIU. Next Fresno State possession, a Ryan Colburn touchdown pass to A.J Ellis made the score 14-7 at the end of the first.

2 minutes into the second quarter, a pick-6 for Linebacker Ben Jacobs would make the score 21-7. Then another Chandler Harnish touchdown pass, this time to Willie Clark brought the game to a 21-14 score. Then, after a Fresno State punt, a Field Goal made the score 21-17. Then, 25 seconds before the half, a Ryan Colburn touchdown pass to Matt Lindsey would put the score at 28-17, Fresno State.

In the third, each team would trade 3 punts each, then Northern Illinois would tack on a field goal, making it 28-20. Then, the same would happen for Fresno State, as they hit a chip shot field goal, making it 31-20.

In the fourth, the only score would be a Coulburn touchdown pass to Rashad Evans. The final score would be 38-20, Fresno State.

What are your settings as far as difficulty level, sliders, and rosters for this?

Re: My simulations of the 2010 bowl seasons-NCAA 11

I have 8 Minute Quarters, All American difficulty, Luvtotha9s rosters, and a little customization of SECElite's sliders. I found them more realistic for me after I tweaked them a little. It may be easier for other people, but since I'm not the best NCAA Football gamer, it doesnt make it as tough on me. But since this is CPU vs CPU, I think they work well.

These teams were evenly matched, and the score reflected it. To start the game, Troy marched down and got a field goal. Then after an Ohio punt that was downed at the 1, the Bobcat defense forced a safety, making the score 3-2 at the end of 1.

The second quarter began with Troy QB Corey Robinson hitting Freshman WR Eric Thomas in the back of the end zone, making the score 10-2. Then, Ohio's next possession saw them march downfield and get a Touchdown pass from QB Phil Bates to WR Lavon Brazill. They would try for two, but would fail, leaving the score 10-8. Then, after a punt from Troy, Ohio would hit a field goal 22 seconds before the half, making the score 11-10 at halftime.

The third quarter saw Troy hit two field goals, as it was the most boring quarter in the game.

Then in the fourth is when it started to pick up pace. Leading 16-11, Troy would tack on another field goal, making it 19-11. Then, Ohio's next possession saw Ohio march on the Trojan defense yet again, and Bates would hit Terrence McCrae in the flat, and he would take it in for 6. They would go for two again, and again they failed. After another Troy punt, Bates would hit WR Riley Dunlop and he would take it to the house from 69 yards out. They went for two this time, and they succeeded. They led 25-19. Then, the second play of the drive for Troy, Corey Robinson would hit Austin Silvoy for an 84 yard TD pass. They would convert on the extra point, making it 26-25, but still with 1:18 for Ohio to work with. Bates would calmly get them all the way down to the Troy 1, but a holding call on the play pushed them back into Troy Territory. After getting close to the marker, a sack made it 4th and 18. Bates waited a while in the pocket, and threw an incompletion in the back of the end zone, and Troy held on to win, 26-25. Possibly one of the best non-BCS bowls to date.
