Best past version

For some of us who have not played NCAA Football (PS3) and really can't put the money into the current version, what's best the best version available beside 11?
I know there will be many opinions, but from what I gather in looking through the forum, 09 seems to get the nod?

Far as PS2 and Xbox versions.......

It would be 04 and 06. Then to a certain degree 08. But hands down 04 and 06 were the best versions on the PS2 and Xbox.

Agreed. I like 04 the best, but 06 is still an awesome game. 2003 also is good if you can find it.

As far as PS3/360 versions, I'd say 11 is really the only one worth your money, although I didn't play NCAA 10, so not sure how that game is.

Re: Best past version

NCAA 10 is basically a slightly less detailed version then 11. Also 10 didn't have locomotion. 11 is more colorful, shiny, brighter.

If you're not interested in online play (and buying old ones suggest you aren't), why not try to buy the current game used? The EA pass thing has depressed the value of used copies, so I imagine you could find one for $20-30 if you hit up craigslist.

Re: Best past version

PS1= I still have a love for NCAA 2000. That was the first year I got into dynasty mode. Had NCAA 98 & 99 but only played random games.

PS2/Xbox= NCAA 06 was the best overall.

PS3/360= NCAA 09 was my favorite. I loved the gameplay with the Wide Open Gameplay. Last time I made it to year 10 in a dynasty mode.

*NCAA 11 is a fun game and I'm sure you could find it cheap on ebay by now.

Re: Best past version

Whilst '11 has many improvements they seriously need to trash Season Showdown. Nothing like playing the CPU, up by 20 w/ 7 minutes left {10 min. qrts} and throwing on a 3rd and 11 and getting that stupid warning for running it up when you know full well that the CPU is going to have its late game heroics any moment.

Do away w/ SS!!!

To answer the question... all versions prior to SS... at least you don't have Big Brother watching over you every game!
