Players Need to Add More Weight During Their Career

This has been a problem for a few years now. I actually really like the starting sizes of the recruits. Some DEs come in at 215 lbs. and some DTs come in at 255 lbs. Those are fairly realistic weights for SOME high school kids coming in. The problem is that these kids might put on 8-10 lbs. during their 4-5 years in the game.

I'd also like to have the ability to "tell" a guy to either add or drop weight. Now I'm not a big fan of the PS2 days where you could play all of the mini games and give 10 of your players an unrealistic ratings boost that the CPU was unable to duplicate. But I should be able to request a player to gain some weight in the offseason and maybe see a little more of a weight/strength increase. The 3 biggest things that should progress from Freshman to Senior year is weight, strength and awareness.

Here's a quick look at some of the top draft picks for this year at DLine. The current heights and weights are from ESPN.com and the HS heights and weights are from Rivals when the kid was recruited. Obviously listed heights and weights vary greatly, but I think this gets the basic point across that some kids gain a ton of weight during their time in college.

I could not agree more. There is nothing I hate more then to see a 5* DE that only weighs 220lbs and by senior/junior year they gain less then 10lbs. It really takes away from the game. While that players ratings improve it is like there is not a weight room on campus. If it can't be added to the game at least allow the user the ability to edit players fully inside the dynasty mode.

^^^
Exactly.
I hate getting 199lbs or less Power backs. Or getting 205 ATHs that are suited to be a Center or Guard.
I just want the ability to edit fully, During the offseason. I dont want to edit during the season and cheese.
I want to edit recruits and players before the season

Yeah, it's annoying. There's a huge difference from an 18 year old coming out of high school and a 21-23 year old who has had 4-5 years with access to Division 1 diet and weight training. It's just as bad when you have NFL caliber QBs only gain 2 lbs or so over their whole careers.

I agree 100% I just signed a 6'4" 256lb Guard in my OD, and I just can't start him because he is 256lbs. For someone reason it bothers me knowing no player could play Guard at a top level school at 256lbs.

What's the difference? Unfortunately, his weight has nothing to do with how he plays.

Weight needs to actually mean something first before we worry about progression.
