Let us set our own position requirements

I think we should be able to set our own requirements. That means if I run a spread and I don't want a FB then I should be able to have scheme them out of my recruiting plans. Also if I run a 335 and I want more safeties that should be a matter of making my low end higher so I can have more on the roster to fill my depth.

It is pretty funny to start with a team with no fullbacks and suddenly be required to recruit two.

if i don't plan on using fullbacks i just pick up the walk ons, but still annoying that i need to leave spots open for them

Don't forget that the depth chart can't handle the 335 or 425 from a safety standpoint. There are 2 safety spots BESIDES free safety, yet I can only control the first 3 guys in for my SS? So if my 4th safety isn't good, I may get a corner or even a linebacker playing one of the safety spots! This alone drives me nuts about how the roster/depth chart is set up.

no doubt. i end up having the cut a decent player b/c i have to keep some crappy walk-on as my fullback or 3rd string linebacker. i don't expect it to change, we'll get moving wind socks instead.

Great idea by the OP- I'm sure we all have had to cut a solid prospect or a deserving upperclassman backup to make room for a walk-on who will never see the field. Until rosters are expanded to match realistic roster sizes (85 scholies + walk-ons) this should definitely be implemented.
