on the field play I would say '04. '06 would be my #2 for last-gen.

Most recent don't equal best. Not by a long shot.

okay, but what makes the game that's 4 years older better? did the game play go down hill? did they remove features? from what I know once current gen hit they stopped making big changes to last gen so in theory shouldn't 2010 be an updated version of '06?

Why not pick up '11? It most likely more polished and balanced than the games previous and will be easier to find in stores.

Re: Best Overall Last Gen NCAA Game?

thanks for the thoughts so far guys.
question: what happened to 05?
a few liked 04 and 06. what happened that year?

also, i agree that a newer game does not mean better.
perfect example for me is Madden 07, which is my favorite. 08 had less features [that i liked anyways]

Also madden 05 is regarded as the best of the bunch, but 06 gets no love.

games do and can get worse and then rise back up again.

getting back to NCAA, 05?
it lost some luster after 04? what brought it back in 06?

Re: Best Overall Last Gen NCAA Game?

NCAA 05 had a number of issues, but the two that stick in my mind the most were:
  • the ludicrously high number of dropped passes by wide open receivers;
  • a misguided attempt to revamp the ball physics that veterans of the series quickly labeled "beach ball physics".
