Let me edit individual players, let me edit on a "global" scale, let me create customized recruiting classes.

That way I can edit small things to my liking like a players height or weight, I can scale the entire existing roster to levels I feel are appropriate, and let me set standards for recruiting classes so I can scale generated recruits in such a way that I don't have to edit everybody over and over again.

I completely agree with the above poster.

(Side note: Goodness I would be on that jump rating so fast...)

The issue is progression. To me, EA has two choices -- accurately execute progression or give us full editing capabilities.

Without editing capability, draft classes exported from NCAA and imported into Madden is really quite comical.
They need to do both. Because somebody will slip through the cracks and not prgress right even if they fix the progression system.

From the Madden Franchise Blog

Edit Players
This is one we talked to you about on Twitter and the forums.

After some discussion, we agreed that Franchise mode is yours to control and that we needed to give you the ability to edit the ratings of any player in Franchise mode, whether they are veterans or the rookies you just imported from NCAA Football.

If you want some QB you imported to be an 85 overall because you won the Heisman with him, you’re welcome to edit him to be that high. It’s all up to you.

Wow do I hope this makes it over to NCAA...

After reading the Madden blog I was just floored by the amount of improvements they have implemented in to franchise mode this year. I must say, I haven't played Madden in 4 years and have just been sticking with NCAA but this might be the year that changes because I am a big franchise and dynasty mode guy. I sure hope NCAA is following suit and making some similar changes to their dynasty mode, especially the ability to edit players and maybe even the dynamic player ratings. We shall see soon. This may be the year that both Madden and NCAA dominant.

As much as I would love for it to be, I doubt it.

Player Roles- Unlikely
Coach Impacts- Likely
Dynamic Performance- Unlikely
New Scouting System- Unlikely
Bidding Feature (recruiting)- Possible
Change Teams- Already there
Practice Mode- Already there
Dynamic Gameplans- Possible
Player Profiles- I wish
Progression Tuning- Unlikely
Re-tuned Simulation Stats- Likely
Weather Tuning- Likely
Depth Chart Logic- Likely

So I'd say NCAA gets about half of the updates. But leaving out the big ones (Player Profile, Player Roles, Progression Tuning, Dynamic Performance), I feel like NCAA won't be making near the progress that Madden has. But I guess we'll see.

I'd like to see the devs of both games sit down an figure out how to implement a Senior Bowl Game for scouting for Madden. I don't care if they add it to NCAA or Madden just wish they would add it.

Dynamic Performance shouldn't, and neither should Progression Tuning. EA could just simplify it:

Freshman- Very inconsistant
Sophomore- Inconsistant
Junior- Consistant
Senior- Very Consistent

After than, all they would need to do is give us the ability to change a players consistency. For instance, Marcus Lattimore from USCe. A Freshman, but he was incredibly consistent last year.

As for Progression Tuning, if a player is having a good year, he goes up. If he isn't, he stays the same. Its simple. I don't want the guy who was an 80 overall and then won the Heisman going up +1 point after he decided to come back for another. I also don't want the guy who sat on the bench to go up +8. It just doesn't make sense.
