NCAA 12 "I need a team" topic

There's always a few of these every year. Myself included. Being Canadian I have no hometown/state allegiance and barely get to watch.

I want flash and trickery. I've used Vanderbuilt,UL Lafayette,San Jose State and Cal so far this gen so take them out. Not that anyone would suggest them anyway,well maybe Cal.

Baylor has that great QB and being a 49ers fan Washington might be a nice pick but other than that I don't have any idea.

Since you've used a Sun Belt team before, I'll suggest - Arkansas State

Why? Ryan Aplin was a top 10 passer in yards in 2010. Derek Johnson should be on the field this year (a top recruit from 09 transfered from Texas this past year) and new coach, Hugh Freeze, took ASU from being in the bottom 10 in total offense up to the top half of the nation as their OC.

Sounds like you prefer lower rated team, and building them up.

If you want to build up a small school, then your looking for a Sunbelt or MAC team, a few MWC and WAC teams to.

If looking for a big time conference team that needs to be built up..

SEC - Kentucky, Ole Miss, Miss State
Big Ten - Indiana, Illinois, Purdue, Northwestern, Minnesota
Big 12 - Kansas, Kansas State, Baylor, Iowa State
Pac-12 - Colorado, Washington State, Possibly both Arizona schools
ACC - Duke, Wake Forest, Virginia, NC State
Big East - IDK... in 2011 they were all pretty even.

The following link has NCAA 2011 info for each team (like playbook, run/pass%) It should be close to what 2012 will be, with the exception of teams with new coaches.

By that list of teams, it seems like you don't go for the stacked teams like the Alabama's on the game. If you're doing a dynasty, I'd look at one of the schools that just changed conferences. Now, when I say that Colorado comes to mind. Maybe not the best team possible but they have a fresh new start in the Pac-12. That, and the new Colorado intro with the bull running looks extremely awesome. If you're looking for a mid-major school I'd try Northern Illinois.

Rutgers should be pretty fun.

A stable of WRs that all could be ALL BIG EAST, one of the most highly decorated HS QBs coming back off his Freshman campaign, a Top 5 Freshman HB comes in and most likely will start from day 1.

We switched to the Pro Style, but we are sprinkling in some random things such as the Pistol.

Defense emphasizes speed over size, very aggressive, lots of movement and blitzing.

San Diego State University:
-A mediocre team with high potential
-A decent Conference (MWC)
-Pretty good Pitches
-A good stadium that allows you to take advantae of dynamic attendance

I suggest Utah. There a fun team to build up and wouldnt be an unrealistic power type school judging from there past (undefeated seasons, #1 draft pick, beating Alabama etc). Plus now in the pac 12 the competition for them is going to be harder so will take a lil longer to build them up.
