Virginia Cavaliers. A team who has struggled recently and in the past. They seem to be on the rise with a new, charismatic coach and a very good first year recruiting class. UVA also has great academics and traditions. UVA is one of the best public schools in the country and often referred to as a Public Ivy. With UVA you aren't just supporting a football team but supporting a great university which has produced some phenomenal people.

Notre Dame

They haven't had the right coach in years and I think we finally got the right one this time while coming off a decent winning streak to end the season. All that while having 2nd and 3rd string QB's in the game. They are defiantly up-and-coming team.

Utah State OP. They are the cream of the crop of the WAC.

Re: Looking for an NCAA team to cheer for

All biases aside, WVU is what you are looking for. They had BCS Success in recent years, but after a few mediocre years they seem poised to dominate. They just hired the most exciting Offense Coordinator in the nation as Head Coach, Dana Holgorsen. They also have a great quarterback-wide receiver duo in Geno Smith and Tavon Austin. Geno is on the Heisman Watch list this year just because Dana Holgorsen implemented his new offense, and he's only a junior. Combine that with the MOST underrated Defensive Coordinator in college football who had the Mountaineers in the Top 10 of every Major Defensive category, including Top 3 overall, and you've got yourself one hell of a dynasty!!
Oh and this guy doesn't hurt either...

He finished 2nd in the nation in sacks, and only played on 3rd Down. It was also his first season in D1..

WVU just so happens to be a perfect example of this. If they weren't I wouldn't have even posted in this thread.. All I gave were facts.
