If you want the game to look it’s very best, use PS3 720p only because we render in that directly.

I hope that clears things up for everyone.
UPDATE JUST SAW THIS VIDEO.
Grass looks way better in retail version.

Hey. Thanks for taking the time to post a response. I see that you're the
NCAA Art Director. I have been playing Madden since the mid 90's and NCAA
since 2001.

Maybe you have answered it, but are you guys going to do anything to
change the grass before the game is released?

Everything looks AMAZING up close, and I understand that it's not possible
to make everything look amazing from a distance, as this would take up too
much space, (according to a user here).

My main concern, as stupid as it may be, is the grass color. It just doesn't
look like grass.

The screen below was taken from NCAA Football '01... and I think the color is
definitely more accurate... maybe a little dark.

Still, my main concern here is the huge difference in graphics during certain
replays and cut scenes, opposed to the actual game play.

In Fable 3 for example, the cut scenes look AMAZING, and better than the
actual gameplay. But still, the gameplay graphics look pretty damn good.

Want to see a beautiful game all around??? cut scenes, gameplay, and all?

Backbreaker got the grass right...

I guess I just don't get what happened... I am not trying to be rude at all
here. The graphical improvements your team made during the cut scenes are
absolutely beautiful. I just wish the game could be close to this beautiful
during the actual gameplay.

Why not scale from the 720p to 480 or 1080 on older sets? Does the extra processing power needed to scale get too taxed and cause slowdown? Just curious. Unless you have a pretty big set you'll be hard pressed to notice a difference between 720p and 1080p.

the smoothness on the XBOX version reminded me of The Show, Sony should demand software antialiasing from third party software houses.

The main issue I have with the PS3 demo is the play art on the field. It looks too opaque and the circles look rough.

Re: NCAA 12 PS3 pics of field

The grass is a big issue graphically for me, and I am very glad so many people have noticed it this year. Backbreaker really did do a superb job with there grass, and if EA could copy that, I would love it. The players would really pop off the field without the blotchy water colored looking grass EA is using in NCAA and Madden. Madden 06 had pretty nice grass also for the most part.
