Re: Should Backtrack make its way over to NCAA?

I voted to bring it back. As far as commentary, whats missing is the back and forth banter between the two. As of now there's too much silence. They need more back and forth similar to what "those other games" accomplish pretty well.

I'm surprised so many people voted no. Was it because you thought I was talking about the Rewind feature also, or do people just not care for presentation?

yes, i liked the feature.

i don't usually use inst replay to gamefilm a bad play or anything but i liked it when it was done for me. i think it adds something extra to presentation.

and i like dan's idea about doing it on plays that went right too.

maybe if it also pointed out effort (like if two spin moves a juke and a dive turn a 3 yard gain into a 10+ yd TD run.)

it's just a breakdown, like what they do in real commentary in NCAA and NFL games. looks like their doing some things like that this year with gametrack and such so i would welcome the addtion. and just like inst replays or whatever else you could button push past them if you wanted.

Re: Should Backtrack make its way over to NCAA?

this thread got me thinking....

didn't there used to be (in either madden or ncaa) after you threw an INT they would ask you out of three plays what the defense was running. and if you guessed right you could get some of the QB's in game dynamic progression back??

That was in NCAA 09 and 10, but I don't think 11.

I'm surprised there's so many people saying no, especially with complaints about presentation over the years...you'd think you would want things that are included in the presentation of EVERY SINGLE FOOTBAL BROADCAST the last 30 years.

I think things like I was quoted in the first post would go a long way towards making the game much more like watching a real game. And it only takes one button press to skip...but I know if they did things like showing penalties in slow motion, showing injured, celebrating or upset players on the sideline and breaking a big play or a turnover, I would never skip it. I end up going back and watching the "highlights" of such plays anyways.

Re: Should Backtrack make its way over to NCAA?

This may be unpopular, but I say bring Lee Corso back!

I never found him as annoying as other people did (not to say he wasn't annoying at times), and he added a lot of emotion to the broadcast, made it feel less robotic.

I know its not an accurate representation of the current broadcast team but then again Gus Johnson was the CBS football broadcaster (for the AFC), now he's doing FOX's coverage (for the NFC) and Chris Collinsworth is 1/2 of the the Sunday Night broadcast. I'd rather have an enjoyable commentary than a correct pairing that while enjoyable IRL is boring and robotic in-game.
