Re: Do we know the conference prestige ratings?

yes WAC as a C+... and in reference to an earlier post i'm going to go ahead and make the top 8 conferences AQ since they are all C or higher... since the top 2 go to the NC game there should still technically be 2 at-large spots, right?

i'm curious if the game is the actual BCS rules worked in... something like any non-AQ team that is ranked in the top 15 automatically jumps over other AQ teams to get an at-large bid, right?

Boise St. left the WAC for the Mountain West.

BYU isn't a huge loss, and Utah < Boise St. Still seems odd, actually. They still don't have Fresno, Hawaii, or Nevada.

They have TCU who won the Rose Bowl though. I'd expect them to drop back to a C+ with the loss of TCU and addition for Hawaii, Nevada, and Fresno.

I forgot about TCU....I keep lumping them with the Big East which is where I will put them after the 1st season.

Taking the announced changes for the 2012 season in effect (TCU to Big East, Nevada, Hawaii, and Fresno St to Mt. West, Texas St and UTSA to WAC) here's how I would have ranked conference prestige....

SEC- A+
Big 10- A
Pac-12 A-
Big 12- B+
ACC- B
Big East- B
Mountain West- B-
C-USA- C
MAC- D+
Sun Belt- D
WAC- D -

Why would you bump the Pac 12 up a half-letter grade (that doesn't exist, no minus grades) with no changes to the conference? Unless you predict they win a title this year, and then maybe.

Why the drop for the Sun Belt?

You can't discredit the WAC any more than a D; no D-'s.
