Ironman football: more reps at "secondary" position?

I was really excited to play RTG this year with all the upgrades... until I found out you can only play certain positions (OL and TE excluded). I created a HB/LB with HB as my "primary position", but I keep getting most of my reps at LB. After a couple of drives I'll play pretty much all of the defensive drive and by the time our offense gets the ball back, I get one carry and then get subbed out due to fatigue.

Is it even worth it to play both sides of the ball? It seems to me that in doing so you don't get the full experience of playing either position because you keep getting pulled to rest a few plays. It would be one thing if you could play both ways with only missing a handful of plays (5-8 plays in a game of 100 snaps), but it seems to me that after a quarter or so you play a couple downs, then sit out a couple, etc., so you only play half the game anyway.
