Re: Intentional Grounding???

It's really annoying me as well. The second I press throw away it's called no matter what, but the CPU does it blatantly in the center of the pocket, and the announcers say they did, yet they get nothing.

Yeah it's obnoxious. The game will never 'throw it away' like the button press from the user, even if the ball is so badly thrown it should be called. Should be patched, I've seen it over a dozen times already. (Not over exaggerating)

Nice catch coach.
Hahaha...I love the way the ref just flips around and stares at where the ball landed.

You can throw the ball away from the pocket, as long as there is an eligible receiver in the vicinity. You always see QB's throw the ball out the back of the endzone when no one is open, over a WR's head when covered near the sideline, and you see QB's throw into the ground at a RB's feet on a screen play. Once outside of the tackle box, QB can throw away as long as ball travels past line of scrimmage. Sadly though this is not incorporated into the game. I have experienced blatant CPU QB throw aways this year that were not called, yet when we hit the throw away it's automatic if not outside the box.

Re: Intentional Grounding???

This is a bummer. It was extremely noticeable in the 3 demo games I played (don't have 12 yet) and was hoping it was just me missing something, or something that would be fixed. In true EA fashion, it looks like it's not.

Against Texas in the demo I saw it at least 5 times in one game and not once was called. Though of course, when I accidentally hit that button it called it.

Re: Intentional Grounding???

I believe that the button should be remade as a modifier. Say you're under a heavy rush, you would hold the R1 button and then press a receiver button to throw the ball away in their vicinity (in the way that real QBs often do). If EA feels that this would remove some of the challenge from the passing game it could be made so that if a QB with low AWR tries to throw the ball away near a receiver in the middle of the field the throw maybe picked off (or if their Throw PWR is low and they try to throw it over a receiver running down the sideline it might turn into a pick). It's just frustrating not being able to get rid of the ball from within the pocket, which is a tool you really need if playing as a pocket passer. Then again, EA and the world at large seems to over emphasize the dual-threat college quarterback (ala Cam Newton and Vince Young-types).
