RTG: Smart Decisions when choosing school

Well I thought I was making a wise choice and maybe I did. Only time will tell.

I made a running back for my high school Bloomington South. Pretty much destroyed the defense on my way to winning the State Championship. Thought I was the best thing since Barry Sanders.

Upon gaining scholarships from several big name schools and IU where I thought I would like to play I had to make the hard choice. Alabama looked awesome and I had dreams of Heisman Trophies and Sugar Plum Fairies fogging my judgement. So I signed and off the the great South I went.

First observation: Those dammed linebackers and linemen hit HARD and QUICKLY!
I am trying my best to please the coach in practice but crimminy! Everytime I gain on a few runs, I get clocked for a loss before the QB can even hand off on the next 5 plays.

I know the big red tide D is pretty awesome but should I quit and start over?

My point is as a RB is it possible to gain enough XP to make the rest of offense capable of stopping these NFL destined defensive giants!??!?

Re: RTG: Smart Decisions when choosing school

Alabama might be tough, because once again, EA has overrated their defense.

9 of the 11 starters are first team pre-season All-Conference SEC in the game.

The SEC coaches just recently voted on pre-season All-Conference SEC players.

Here's the complete list of Alabama defenders who made the REAL all-conference teams.

DL Josh Chapman, 1st team
LB Dont'a Hightower, 1st team
DB Mark Barron, 1st team
DB Robert Lester, 1st team
LB Courtney Upshaw, 2nd team
LB C.J. Mosley, 3rd team
DB Dre' Kirkpatrick, 3rd team

Right, so in reality, 7 Alabama players filled a possible 33 slots for the three defensive all-conference teams. In the game, 9 Alabama players fill a possible 11 slots for the FIRST team all-SEC team...

And in reality, Alabama only had 13 players even named to the 3 all-Conference teams. That's not even the highest number of players for one school in-conference.

Yet Alabama has the over-inflated ratings this year, just as they did last year (and the only went 9-3 last year). If Alabama wins at least 10 games, I imagine their defense will probably get another 99 ovr rating...

Yeah they are nasty in the game for sure.

Anyone else run into this? Where you go to a school and cannot
develop in practice because the defense is ridiculously good?

Sounds like an upset arkansas fan to me. I agree our "D" should not have that many preseason SEC guys. However, we will be nasty. Should be a fun one between the hogs and the tide this year in T-town!

Defense wins Championships
you should be a good teammate & put yer personal ambitions aside
& stay at Bama
i really don't think Trent Richardson will win the Heisman though he will be ver good
Mark Ingram was a once-in-a-lifetime lightning-in a-bottle sorts deal for Bama
All Hail the D!
RTR!

Well I stuck with it and in week 12 finally got moved to second string!
Not only that but was up against the Cobra's so the Coach let me in in the 1st Qtr.
First play and 79 yards later I had a TD. Apparently Coach liked it and let me in again.

At the end of the game I had 363 yards rushing which blew the school rushing record out of the water, and 6 TD's.

Next practice I went up against the #1 and got my rear end stomped! Feels good to compete for it though.

Playing on All-American.

I'm not upset. I'm not even saying that Alabama doesn't have the best defense in the conference.

They absolutely do.

But EA overrates them.

I also chose alabama as a runningback so i know what is happening to you.
My first couple of weeks I couldnt do anything.
The linebackers were coming up to blitz and i was getting hit just as i got the ball.
Just keep improving your player and it will become better.
It took me like 8 weeks to become the starter.
It took me about 4 weeks before i became 3rd string.
