So Player lock adds a whole new dimension to a EA football game thats basically played the same for a decade. While its not new, I believe offensive player lock is new this year and it brings back old favorites from Madden. Namely Lead Blocker Control and 'Be the WR' mode.

Does anybody else use this, or stick with one player through a game for the challenge/diversity? Share your hints tips and tricks here.

Not my way to play, but I will like this solely for the thread title.

You should check it out for a play or two. Not only does your D play better (I see a substantial turnover difference, but mostly sacks) but WR can always be open if you run the route with Turbo and hit A (X for PS I guess?) to call for the ball. Jumping the snap is a little too easy and highlighting a WR then locking onto the Safety is a money Int. if they throw that way. Ive loved blocking for people since Gameday 97 co-op and pancaking a blitzing LB is always fun when locked onto a Tackle.

I might have to try it on defense. I'm prone to causing a screw up and missed tackles when I try to switch players and make a play. This way, I can just worry about the d-line, but it sucks for pre-play, unless you do it after your adjustments.

You make your adjustments, then you lock, although you can adjust and do audibles etc. while your in player lock.

Yea, but I've accidentally hit it on defense and you can't see the secondary any more or all of the offense so you can't adjust for that, though I don't do it often. Definitely might try it out tomorrow.

I love defensive player-lock. It is the main reason I buy NCAA over Madden now.

Yeah, if Madden doesnt have player lock then I probably wont even rent it. Its an obvious inclusion that adds optional depth and variety to the mundane and rather stale EA football gameplay.
