But he really did start with 95 speed and 95 mcv. Another CB from that class also had like 92 speed and 93 man coverage, while there's also 1-2 CBs #1 on my recruiting board (AA, might move up to Heisman if it gets too easy) that have "A" ratings for mcv.

My current CBs press was only like 76 or something like that, but I don't even press him, I just play off and inside and he's unstoppable.
Wait, I know you can play press and off. But they now have shading in the game?? Goes to show you how much I have played it since I learned of the roster bug.

If they now have inside and outside shading that is NICE!!

No, they don't, I have to manually move him

First you say you didn't edit him.

Then you say u did edit him cause you felt he deserved that rating. Sounds to me that you created a super freshman cornerback cause you named him Neon Deion jr. And felt he deserved lol. Nothing wrong with that though.

Now, Luck left for the draft for obvious reasons, but their new QB is still a very solid 85, and their #1 WR is a solid 88 both higher than my CB's 84, however, my CB's attributes make him a shutdown corner.

Just held their #1 to 2 catches, 1 yard, 1 pass deflection, and 2 interceptions (both user...my first user interceptions ever), with both catches (4 yards and -3 yards) coming in the 4th when the game was already decided.

May not seem like a big deal to most, but this is the first time I've seen a shutdown CB actually shut down a WR in a football video game.

I didn't even have to control the CB. The BIGGEST key to having your CB play to his rating is have him play off a bit and INSIDE, just like a real CB does in real life. Doesn't seem like it would make a difference, but it stops all those stupid quick slant routes, and lets the CB use the sideline to his advantage, like real football.

Only one game, but hoping my CB can have a season like Revis did in '09, shutting down lots of top WRs.

Hrmm...

Now I'm trying to decide whether or not MCV was the only skill edited. Moreover, I'm trying to decide how seriously to take a poster who edits a freshman CB to 99 MCV...

Re: Shutdown CBs DO exist!

whether he edited or not, its not like the cpu milk their beastly superstar WR, they hardly ever pass to them...i give up more yds to the 4th/5th string guys....

i even started putting my best CB's in the 3rd & 4th slot to cover the cpu main targets.....

I upped him up 4 points, he was at 95, I edited him to 99.

I can provide screens if needed, which is pretty ridiculous.

Re: Shutdown CBs DO exist!

It's funny this thread comes up after weeks of debate on physic DBs. Of course, shutdown CBs exist, they're reading the mind of the QB and WR!

And for me, my TE is consistently my best statistical receiver.
