Winning the Heisman with defensive players?

I've seen Hosley from Virginia Tech in it for a week or two, but I've never seen anybody close to winning it.

On NCAA 09 i did it with a defensive lineman.
He had like 4 sacks a game plus a bunch of tackles for loss.
I have never seen a player in the running for heisman on defense unless he is on my team.

I actually won the heisman in my second year at Cal with a guy that basically was only a returner. I would maybe give him 3 or 4 carries a game on offense but in the return game he was electric. he averaged like 35 yards a return on punts with like 6 touchdowns and like 40 yards a return on kicks with 7 or 8 touchdowns

I did it in 2006 with a FS that also returned kicks & punts and played a little TE. I pretty much made it my mission to get him the award, so after getting up by a couple TDs, I'd always punt the ball on 1st down (crowd always booed) in order to rack up stats. He was ridiculous though - 99 SPD/ACC, big hitter, the whole deal.

How many defensive players have won it in real life? Oh ... 1 .... kind of. Seems pretty realistic that defensive players are getting screwed in the game, too.

By the way, the Heisman is super overrated, & defensive players getting screwed every year is a perfect example of it.

I havent even had a player win the heismen yet. I had a hb that had rediculous numbers. tons of yards and tds and i was ranked number one in the country. He lost out to a hb from Georgia I think. He had like 10 less tds and way short on the yardage.

09 i did it with a MLB. 130+ tackles, 15 sacks 10 INT's (4 or 5 were returned for TD's) 7 FF

I did it with a linebacker in last year's game. Had a ridiculous number of sacks (20+) and a few interceptions. I was beyond excited to get it, though I despaired at generating unrealistic stats.
