I think it also depends on positions .... 1* fullbacks are occasionally very good ... I've seen 80s. And I think some 3 * kickers can be pretty great.

Nice to see gems out there, too. And I like that Juco's are rated to come in and contribute.

Anyone seen a 2 or 3 star hidden gem come in way above average or by their senior year develop into a star player?

Yes. If you redshirt a player, they can advance about 20 points. If a player starts at 75... They could be 90-95 as a Senior.

My 3 stars are generally 63-68

I have only recruited a few 2 stars, but none of them have cracked 60.

edit: on the other hand, do you all see in season progression as being a significant way for players who you want to start in year 1 to get some good progression?

In season progression seemed twitchy for me. My freshman running back had a 200 yard rushing game and my third string HB (soph) had a 38 yard game with 1 TD and got bumped up two overall. I just wished there was more logic to it, honestly if you can you wanna send everyone through a redshirt cycle.

All my 3* recruits have been in the mid to upper 60's range. 2*'s lower 60's. Although I did have a 2 star kicker turn out to be 75 his freshman year.

I try to do exactly that, Almost all of my seniors are redshirts usually.
