how different exactly are the gameplay mechanics between madden and NCAA?

I have hardly played madden since 09 due to its horrible franchise mode, but i figure i will be spending a lot more time with it this time around. However, are the gameplay mechanics like coverage, defensive pass rush, blocking logic, the way the cpu plays the run and calls its plays, etc similar?
