Re: Stolen Heisman!?...

I agree that the heisman voting seems off however even in real life the voters usually tend to vote for upper classmen vs. fresh/soph. Statistically speaking there is more heisman winners that are juniors/seniors as opposed to the fresh/soph.

Again I agree that the system is off but the favoritism towards upper classmen I think is appropriate. Just my .02

I used to run into this problem as well until I figured out that for a HB to win it, he must have some substantial receiving yards added to his overall stats total.

I had a HB at WMU win it twice without getting more than 150 Recieving Yards a year

Re: Stolen Heisman!?...

I had something similar happen to me, my running back was number one for the last 5 weeks on the season, then in the last game of the season he got injured in the second quarter. I advanced to the next week and he was completely off the list. I can understand him loosing because someone was close to him and he ended up second to fourth even maybe fifth but off the list is bizarre. I just wrote it off as a smaller conference bias against him, because everyone else was from the power conferences.

Re: Stolen Heisman!?...

Part of it is that it is attempting to simulate people's opinions, the Heisman winner isn't always the statistical dominant player. Colt Brennan never won a heisman, Case Keenum won't win one.
