I understand the fact that EA currently has the exclusive rights to both the NFL and NCAA Football genre, but why? How is it that all the major sports titles whether it be, baseball, basketball, and even Hockey has competition mainly between 2k and EA. However, football, arguablly the most popular sport in America is handed to one studio and one studio only. It just does not make any sense for us as consumers. I honestly believe that is what has held back the football titles; look at what 2k did with the NBA title, or what SCEA(?) did with The Show. I know that this is more of a rant and nothing can currently be done about this, but is there any chance that we see competition in the football titles in the near future?

Only one hockey and basketball game, and for baseball if you have a 360 only one game.

i believe soney has the rights to baseball but lends out rights to 2k but not ea?

2k owns the rights for third party developers for baseball. SCEA is a first party developer, and can make a game. Nintendo or Xbox can make an MLB game for their system.

EA holds the exclusive license for all developers in NCAA and NFL football.
