Coach mode question

Just got NCAA 12 yesterday. I'm trying to play a dynasty using "Coach" mode. I'm playing as the offensive coordinator. I want to make sure I'm actually playing Coach mode.

After I pick the offensive play-if I hit the R1 button to watch the play nothing happens unless I hit X to hike the ball-is that supposed to be how it works?

Also-is there a way to take the QB's name off the screen along with the stupid big Star icon under him? Why do I need that-it just takes away from the realism aspect and looks like an arcade game.

In coach mode you can still make all the QB adjustments(call audibles, put people in motion, hard count, and hike the ball), but after that you're taken out of the play, and no, aesthetically, you're not able to change those things sadly.
