Huge error in the game

When you punt the ball and try to pin the opponent deep you can't just catch the ball if the punt returner leaves the ball because he thinks it will bounce into the endzone. I jsut saw Samie Parker or Oregon do the exact thing during last weeks game and it was not called a penalty. In Madden it isn't a penalty,so why can't I just try and catch it in NCAA without getting a penalty?

If I am understanding what you are saying...

In HS, College, and the NFL, if the receiver makes no attempt, or is not in position to catch the kick (this is 100% officials judgement) then the kicking team can catch the ball on the fly. If you are saying that you were penalized for doing so, then the game thought that the receiver was still in a position to make a catch, and the penalty is kick catching interference.
This only applies on a scrimmage kick. (punt)
On a free kick, (kickoff) the kicking team must allow the ball to be touched, or hit the ground before it is a loose ball.
