Re: A few changes I would like to see in Recruiting
My idea:
Recruits do not commit until the off-season's final week: In real life if a team stops recruiting players in the middle of the season even if he has given his verbal to them, he will never sign with that team. They all want to feel important. So I suggest that in 13, players do not commit until at least week 1 of off-season recruiting. So if a team has a great season and plays in the title game, they should steal a recruit or three from another team in their conference if they go after them hard. However, players can give soft verbals during the regular season. This way, off-season recruiting feel likes signing day and week 1 represents early morning and week 3 early afternoon and week 5 the night. You have an idea that the soft-commit will more often than not sign with you but there are upsets that can happen and rivalries can become bigger over a top 5 prospect that switches on signing day and then goes on to win the Heisman.
