I find the same thing happens with smaller OL...so I make sure to recruit 300+ lb Offensive Lineman...seems to make my team a lot better...just my input...
You need to look at his individual attributes, not weight, to determine why the heavier guy is not getting pancaked and the smaller guy is.

Same goes for slower, taller WR's. Bulk them up a little, make them play TE. Underweight LB's can be bulked up to play DE. Stronger/slower DE's can be bulked up to play DT. Underweight/slower safeties can bulk up to play LB.

It is not uncommon for true freshmen to come on campus and put on 25-30 in the weight room to fill out their frame or maybe move to another position.

As for editing height, that I do not like. There is no good reason to use it or even have it in the game.

I guess you are right.

I have actually went down on height for a RB. He was 6'4 240lbs so I moved him down to 5'11 just because he looked funny in the backfield being taller than my qb, fb, and o line. Didn't make a difference at all other than he just looks smaller. Dude is a RS junior and has a 94 truck. Only 88 speed but later in the game after the d line gets tired he good for at least 3-4 ypc.

None of this would be necessary if generated recruits were actually realistic. It is ridiculous recruiting 180 pound "power" backs, 198 pound linebackers and 220 pound defensive ends.

I disagree a little bit here, often times you see guys grow a great deal once they get into college, it would be more realistic in the game if the player's height/weight also progressed with the ratings

The weight usually does progress, but randomly and without significance. Usually 5 or 6 pounds each year for the bigger guys.

I wish part of the offseason, right before training results, included strength and conditioning where you can select a certain physical area for each player (or position's worth of players) to improve on. So if I wanted my backs to gain agility, I could assign them to core training in the weight room and cones on the field. If I wanted either offensive or defensive line to get explosive, have them assigned to leg lifting/squats and a corresponding drill.

It could be tied to coach ability/prestige as well, where better coaches get more results than lesser coaches.

That would make a whole lot more sense then the random ratings increases we seem to get with absolutely no rhyme or reason.
