Difference between agility and acceleration?

Aren't they the exact same thing? What's the difference? For simplicity, let's say I'm referring to a RB. What would a RB with 100 acceleration and 0 agility do different from a RB with 100 agility and 0 acceleration?

My thinking on this has always been that acceleration means how fast the player goes from standing to top speed in a straight line, while agility means how fast the player changes direction, moves laterally, or executes moves like jukes and spins.

Exactly, that's the difference. Getting up to top speed versus how fast a change in direction occurs.

I dont know how it translates to the game but acceleration should be a matter of burst, how quickly a player can take off and get up to speed. Agility should be more a matter of body control, a player's ability to stop, what speed they are able to make turns and cuts at and how sharply they can turn at different speeds.

Nope, they're totally different

Acceleration is how fast your player can go to the point of their speed.

Agility is how fast a player can juke or move around.

So in a sense, perhaps agility controls the speed of animations and moves, whereas acceleration is purely speed outside of animations.
