Freezing the D?

Hey guys hope this isn't to much of a newb question but what does freezing the d do and what are the advantages of doing so? Thanks in advance.

Do you mean the real life strategy of freezing the defense or what? There really isn't a mechanism in the game to do so.

Y and right on the d pad freezes the d. Not sure of the advantage though?

Oh, Man Align.

Yeah, it is pretty useless. It only works to slightly disguise man coverage, but it doesn't do it too well.

well play action freezes the defense and pump fakes also freeze corners and safetys not sure if this is what you meant?http://www.operationsports.com/forum...s/confused.gif

If you freeze your defense, they stay in their alignment shell. For example if you are in 4-3 cover 2 it keeps the defense in the 4-3 shell instead of having the LBs walk out to align with the WRs.

Except it resets every play so it is easy for a user to see the LB sneak out early before the man align is done. I wish man align could be a setting in the coach settings where you could tell your defense to always come out in the base alignment and not move, whether it is man or zone. Or tell your defense to always come out and align on the WR's, whether it is man or zone.

I seem to recall this being in the game in the form of a simple on/off toggle switch at some point, but I may be completely misremembering that.
