Anyone else notice when one team succeeds a rival does as well?

So I love Missouri. Huge fan.
Play them in a lot of dynasties.

With the same roster file as my other dynasties I moved Missouri Independent, didn't replace them in the Big XII.

Kansas, who has yet to do bad in any of my Missouri dynasties, tanked, when I went 6-6. (Scheduled the biggest and the baddest with my current slider set, it's brutal). It's year 5, I am 3-stars, Kansas is 1 star and 1-10 right now.

See my other dynasties (here are some stats)

OS dynasty:
Missouri 13-0, 12-1, 12-1, 10-1
Kansas: 8-5, 11-3, 13-0, 12-0

Sim dynasty 1:
Missouri: 14-0, 13-1, 12-2, 14-0, 13-1, 11-2, 5-7, 13-1, 14-0
Kansas: 5-7, 9-4, 11-2, 12-1, 11-2, 14-0, 14-0, 10-3, 12-1

Sim Dynasty 2:
Missouri 5-7, 7-6, 6-7, 5-7, 4-8
Kansas 8-4, 9-3, 7-6, 3-9, 1-11

Sim dynasty 1 & 2 were identical except I intentionally sabotaged Missouri to get them to 1* to see if you could rebuild straight up simming with 1 star recruits in a major conference.

I did another one yesterday, I edited Kansas to be full of freshman 99s. Missouri was basically edited into cupcake central.

Now Kansas went 13-0, 13-0, 13-0. They had good recruits, looked good. Missouri was piddling along, 1-11, 0-12, 2-10

Here's the funny part. Sim ahead 10 years, Kansas is down to 3 stars, Missouri is 2 stars.

Same setup, only Missouri is also 99s. 10 years later they are both 6 stars.

So my question is, has anyone else noticed this or is it just a coincidence that whenever Missouri does well their arch rivals also do well?

Also, I have noticed Auburn/Alabama have this as well. If one tanks the other will too. Any other teams?

I've never noticed this but I'll certainly take a look at it as that's pretty interesting.

Re: Anyone else notice when one team succeeds a rival does as well?

I have seen this to be similar....the other year (i am Purdue) the Big Ten had about 8 teams ranked in the Top 25....and IU of all flippin teams.....IU was 10-1 when I played them in the regular season finale (I was 11-0). CRAZY!!!

SO there may be some truth to this.

wasn't true for me the last 2 seasons as Texas Tech. none of my rivals did that well. In fact Baylor was the best this current season with a 8-5 record, with Texas and Texas A&M at 7-5. I went 13-0 in season 1(won Fiesta Bowl), and 11-1 before bowl game in season 2.

Re: Anyone else notice when one team succeeds a rival does as well?

I have been doing some sim cases with teams intentionally boosted to become good and see what happens to rivals. Kansas/Missouri is on that happens that I notice, as well as Auburn/Alabama.

I tried the Purdue case, and about 5 years down the road Indiana became good.

I am anxious to see other results, because it if is true I am intrigued, but also like it. 2007 was a great year for me as a MU fan because not only did we have our best year ever, but we got to play Kansas during their best year ever. If it is coded it, it's a good idea IMO.
