Re: NCAA 13 Game Play Questions for April 17th

my only question is will EA fix the simple basic option offense?

I mean seriously before there was the spread offenses most teams ran simple option attacks and EA made it work back in NCAA 06

Yet here were are in NCAA 12 and not a sinlge team can run a traditional option attack.

That's like playing a basketball game and not having teams be able to run a simple pick n roll play

Come on EA step up your game this year we get tired of editing stuff to try and fix broken aspects of the game like the option attack.......

Re: NCAA 13 Game Play Questions for April 17th

Everything OP listed is solid, so I'll only focus on unmentioned weaknesses in the Option Game.

(1) QB acceleration out of the Zone Read, Speed Option, etc. fixed?

(2) Proper assignment blocking of the EMOL rather than always the DE?

(3) Proper defense reaction to option runs? (lost & frozen DBs)

(4) Eliminate the ability of the optioned EMOL to insta-pivot and drill the QB?

(5) Read-and-react defense to running plays as well as passes/routes? (DBs instantly crashing the run rather than respecting the WRs for playaction)

(6) Proper defensive line response to playaction? (rather than DL and LBs completely ignoring the RB on the run fake)

(7) OL getting up to the 2nd level better on zone runs?

(8) FULLBACKS & PULLING GUARDS NOT GETTING LOST IN THE @$#% BACKFIELD??!!

Is gameplay more physic based and if not, what's stopping you guys from implementing it?

Re: NCAA 13 Game Play Questions for April 17th

I had some questions in the other video thread that I'd add to that list.

If drop backs are animation based, and the drop you take is based off the plays, what happens if you get immediate pressure on a longer drop? Are you going to get stuck in the drop back and be unable to move (a problem with NCAA 12 at times) or will you be able to abort it and escape?

For those rollout animations, are there going to be actual plays designed for rollouts that include correctly blocking OL? You rollout in NCAA 12, designed play or not, and you're finished because no one blocks and you'll get eaten alive.

Will the QB's footwork be correct on play action away from his throwing arm? In previous NCAA versions, you had to run play action to the QBs strong side only. If you ran opposite of that, the footwork got messed up and wasn't smooth.

Basically, how will these things tie in with the game? New drop back and throwing animations are going to do us no good if plays and blocking are designed as poorly as they have been. Most of the drop backs and throws they showed came on the run and/or off play action, neither of which would ever work in NCAA 12 because of the way blocking is. These nice play action fakes and throwing on the run motions will do us no good if we're getting sacked before finishing the fake.
