I thought the same thing, but I figure that there's got to be a lot of people who are getting early copies of the game somehow.

I can't fault anybody though, if this were anybody besides EA I may have given it a go.
You're actually wrong on this one. There are charging $5 (at most) for a three day rental. This is because the are 5 titles that you will be able to play early. You also get 20% off all DLC. So that would be around $2.35 to play NCAA early. And if you pre-order from Amazon, you'll end up paying $48 dollars to play the game early, get 5 pro combats, and receive your copy of the game on release day. The rest of your money would go into DLC's and other early releases.

-EA isn't taking advantage of anyone. You know what you are getting and its up to you if you want to make the purchase or not.

-I still want to know if anyone can verify what time the download will be available.

-I don't see how you guys are saying this type of download take so long. I've downloaded full copies of games before and 6GB usually takes about an hour.

You must have high Internet speed because a 2 gig demo takes forever on mine...

How are they taking advantage of anyone? They're giving anyone that wishes to play the game early the opportunity to do so. If you don't, then you can get it on Tuesday just like every year before this one.

It starts at 6pm EDT on Friday.

I'll bet with those other downloads there weren't thousands of other people all trying to download the game at the same time and hammering the company's servers.

I'm considering it, but I don't understand why Live 13 isn't included. It would be cool to play NCAA & Madden early, but I already know I'm going to buy them. Live 13 on the other hand is a different matter - there's competition from 2k, and using the Pass may have swayed me.

I don't play hockey or soccer, not worth it for me I don't think.
