Re: IF YOU HAD ONE PLAY

I would probably hot-route it up a lot.

I would do Y-cross out of Shotgun normal. The slot receiver runs about a 12 yard in on that play. I would have him lined up on near side. On the other side, I would have the TE run a slant in. I would also have the two outside receivers run slants as last-case scenario guys. I would have the RB block. Its a pretty money play for this situation. The TE can easily get 10 yards if hes open, and if not, the slot guy has a good chance of getting open across the middle a second later. If all else fails, scrambling and running for it or hitting one of the outside receivers isn't a bad fallback.

Re: IF YOU HAD ONE PLAY

Hook-and-ladder. Some schoolyard shenanigans is the only sort of thing that really has a chance of going 90 yards in four seconds. The down and distance is of no consequence, you can't run two plays in four seconds if you just get the first down, even with the clock stopping between downs and even if you had a timeout.

EDIT: if I'm on my opponent's 10, I put two receivers on the wide side of the field, in a traditional shotgun set; tight end and the third wide receiver on the opposite side. The slot receiver runs a zigout and the receiver split wide runs a deep in. I give the tight end a route across the center of the defense, and depending on the look I get from the defense I either swing the running back out or keep him in to block. The final receiver runs something into the endzone; a medium out, perhaps, something away from the rest of the defense.

I look for the tight end first if the defense comes hot, if not I'm looking for the deep in first then the zigout if the defense gives space on that size of the field and count on my guy to make a play. If I see single-man coverage on my lone receiver running the out I'm likely looking for him, however.

Re: IF YOU HAD ONE PLAY

Verticals never ever work for me idk why

Last edited by Ridgemont Fly; 06-24-2012 at 11:53 PM. Reason: why would you guys do 4 verticals or hot route up from the opponent's 10? Seems like your recievers wouldn't have any room

Since the sit has changed, I will go slants 5 wide, run it up the middle with Denard and it's a TD every time
