Well, I got fired from my head coach position at Eastern Michigan after what I thought was a pretty decent year actually. 5-7 or something like that was my record.

Anyway, I picked up a job as defensive coordinator at Mid Ten State and had to watch in horror (I watch all of my offensive plays, no simming) as Arizona States defense embarrassed the hell out me. Damn LE #17 (forgot his name) racked up 9 SACKS!! The other 2 were made by one of their DTs.

I know, I know, a DE getting sacks in an EA football game!? It happened, and I'm thinking I should've started the game over because I think that **** was out of the realm of what could actually happen in a game.

About to google the average sacks in a football game and see if this **** has ever happened.

Not sure about college but I'll never forget Derrick Thomas getting 7 by himself against the Seahawks

Yes, he did. But the funny thing was Dave Krieg hit Paul Skansi on the final play for a TD, as Krieg just did avoid an 8th sack by Thomas, enabling the Seahawks to beat the Chiefs 17-16.

As to the OP, yes... there have been times in college and pro that teams give up that many sacks in a game... just ask any of the 1985 Bears opponents! LOL But it is rare.

I know Ole Miss recorded 11 sacks against Mississippi State in 2008...but those were spread out among players. I don't know if our DE got one that day or not.

That would be a pretty poor reason to start over. Middle Tennessee State getting dominated by a Pac-12 school seems reasonable.

What's most surprising is that the majority of them were by a defensive end.
