rivalry calculator
I am currently creating a rivalry calculator using Numbers (Excel, but for a MAC) hoping EA will allow us to edit rivalries. What are some factors that you would expect to see in building a great rivalry.
Currently, I am working with location & regions. So if your created team is in Washington state & your opponent is from Oregon then for the given information, you will receive a point value of 1.0 (1.0 = the value for most intense rivalry). So you can see Washington state & Oregon are direct neighbors (like Ohio & Michigan), thus, receiving a point value closest to 1.0. If your team is from Washington state & your opponent is from Maine (New England Region), then you will receive a value of 3.5.
I also would like to use consecutive years playing each other (ex. 1-3 years=3.5, 4-10 years=2.0, 10-15 years=1.5, 20+ years=1.0), whether you are in the same conference, times & scores from playing in the NC, BCS bowls, regular bowls, etc
This will work if you are willing to keep track of the criteria needed for the calculator (if you keep a notebook like some people). Let me know if you have some good ideas to include in the rivalry criteria.
Also, a numbering system would help too since if you have 1.0's in every category, but 1 category you get 3.0, 1x1x1x1x1x1x1x1x1x1x1x1x1x1x1x1x1x1x1x1x3=3!!! Although, with that example, the rivalry should be very intense. Suggestions wanted
