A way to make Heisman Challenge more interesting...

I've been thinking of ways to best utilize Heisman Challenge until we get some named rosters & sliders and my OD gets going (which won't be until the 28th). I know I'll be a homer and do one with Tim Brown on ND, but I feel that the best way to utilize the other players in HC would be to place them on bad teams that are close regionally (for the most part) to where they actually played and see if you can lead that team to prosperity and win the Heisman. Here's some possibilities I was thinking of:
  • Tim Brown on Ball state
  • Doug Flutie on UMass
  • RG3 on Texas State
  • Andre Ware on UTSA
  • Desmond Howard on Eastern Michigan
  • Mark Ingram on UAB
  • Eddie George or Archie Griffin on Akron
  • Charlie Ward or Tim Tebow on FAU
  • Barry Sanders on Idaho
  • Carson Palmer/Matt Leinart/Marcus Allen on SJSU
  • Jim Plunkett on Utah State
  • Herschel Walker on Memphis
Thoughts on this idea? Any other suggestions on who to put where?

I just can't imagine this being fun. You take Tim Brown and put him on a weak team and play their schedule, he should dominate. Then you throw bombs all day until he piles up yardage and touchdowns.

You do this for a entire season, probably never run the ball. I can't see the mode being interesting. Sorry! Not meaning to high jack your thread or come off as being a d**k, I just wonder what EA was thinking when creating this mode.

Don't get me wrong, I feel that EA should have reallocated the resources they used on this to address other issues, but I'm just trying to get some use out of the mode until rosters and sliders are ready. Perhaps if I set a house rule of not being able to change the play the coach calls (unless playcalling in this mode proves to be FUBAR), that will rein in the experience some. I realize that it's ripe to just plow through teams with these guys, but one just has to keep a sim player mindset if possible.

Barry Sanders to Kansas. He was born and raised in Kansas. They may be a higher prestige but they are a bad team in a decent conference.

Herschel on Memphis... and people thought DeAngelo was good. C-USA would get steamrolled!

I agree, hopefully you will get plenty of use out of this mode and share your experiences with us.... so maybe more will try this.
