Gamespot NCAA 13 Review (Harsh)

I've played enough now to say it absolutely doesn't feel like a new game. It feels like a patched NCAA 12 - complete with positives and negatives. I'm too pissed off to bother reviewing it right now. It is as much fun as last year's version - meaning you will play it for a month and then move on. That is not what most of us are used to doing with this game.

EA - if it is broken just admit it and fix it.

Football Gods - please take the exclusivity from EA.

I meant to Madden. I don't think any company out there is going to consider an NCAA football game if they are locked out of the pro game. The one effects the other.

Well, I have to say that I am playing (tolerating) the game at the moment, and making the best out of it but that review was spot on. Especially the part about the dull User Interface. I remember they used to have newspapers with the players on the cover back in the day. It wasn't much, but it was much better on the eyes than the current menu design screens which are VERY bland and lifeless.

Editing players, while slightly more streamlined than last year is still a pain in the buttocks. Its like they don't take into consideration that people really do flip through their menus to track stats, edit players, etc.

I haven't bought an NCAA game in over 10yrs....got sick of the same thing every year....after reading gamespots review am glad i waited 10yrs....its all new to me

I think it would be smart by EA to sit out a year and revamp from scratch. Sure they would lose money but Madden would still bring in money. Don't know if this would every happen tho. That way they could test the final product and past it to testers than release it.

They need a new engine and have been using the same code for years.

That's why nothing much has changed. They can add a few things in here or there, but until a new engine is released, you won't see much of a difference in the game.

I'm betting it won't be until the next console until that happens for NCAA.
