Would you be mad if EA took a year off?

Exactly how are they keeping up with it? When there was competition in football gaming people are still playing titles that were close to that time today 6 years later. Granted not a lot but all we hear about is how football gaming was so great with so many cool things in the game around 2005. I feel like you are cheating yourself if you really believe EA spent 9 months squeezing all they could out of NCAA 12 for 13. As I stated I have no idea how hard it is to make a video game but 9 months is such a long time for what we received.

And for the people saying stop complaining and enjoy the game for what it is, do you hear the message that you are sending? Why compromise and give EA a pardon, aren't we paying them?

Yes I am another person who has been playing since Bill Walsh and game breaker days which is around 18 years (yes I am old) This is the first year I have not bought on release day. I still want really bad to go buy it but I basically have NCAA 13 in an NCAA 12 box. Even with the issues I was genuinely disappointed when I called the video store and they were sold out. I am not bashing NCAA but the passion we all have for college football is not being replicated by EA the way it used to.

I would be all in favor. That way they stop over charging the same game with a few bug tweaks every year, and put out a QUALITY product for paying customers!

Keeping up as in, the real football season is yearly and so the game matches that schedule. NFL and NCAA wouldn't let EA take a year off. Too much money involved. When there was competition in gaming, people still complained about games. People will complain till the day they die or EA sports stops making games completely. Course, they'll complain about whatever company replaces them. If people don't like the lack of competition, take it up with the NFL (Madden). Same with the NCAA. If I'm running ea, I'd be a fool not to take the offer because the NFL I know dropped the royalty cost for the license of teams, logos, and players with the new contract.Not sure if the NCAA did the same with its programs since I can't find in financial details on their deal.

And yeah, they do work for the majority of the year on the new game. Of course they take time off. Employees get vacations and time off, that's a given. But those months fly by when working on a computer program. You can work on a game for two years and still have unforeseen bugs pop up. Then you got to figure out how to fix it. Some are easy solutions, some make you start from scratch.

Point is, people will complain about these games till there is no more games to complain about. (Some will complain cause there are no games to complain about).

They could just bring on some extra people to push out next year's usual update, and the they put together a team dedicated to making a rebooted version for NCAA 15. That's what I'd like to see happen.

And I would contend if the Infinity engine was added this year, this thread might not have been made.

It wasn't and that was an unfortunate decision.

And yes, there are other issues plaguing this series, but I think the Infinity engine will help Madden.

No, these games need more than the Infinity Engine. Some people see that, some don't.

It takes the ENTIRE team to realize that when developing the game, not just the sound guy and one part assistant.
