Correct me if I'm wrong but it seems you're doing something right. YOu have 17 sacks. The DE is a pass rusher not run stopper. How many tackles do your DT and LBs have on the running back? I don't see anything wrong? Dwight Freeney and Robert Mathis rarely tackle a RB.

Irrelevant, on a draw, if the de recognise it he should be able to retreat and keep contain on the Rb to the inside, and give backside pursuit to keep the Rb from cutting back and breaking it outside, why rag on the guy for attempting to play right with a player to the whistle.

If he backs up he will disengage being able to contain to the inside. You cannot use the power moves or finesse to do so you have to back up and disengage from the blocker in order to do what he is saying. I just tried it and I had no problems disengaging from the lineman when I just stepped back.
