Re: NCAA Football 2006

I keep on getting the game crashing when trying to edit rosters using backwards comparability on my Xbox 360. Anyone have any ideas? I'm playing on SD because it's an old game and it's very playable aside from this.

Just ordered NCAA 06 for XBOX, but now running a 360. Hopefully can run it good.

From 06-10, this was the only game in my PS2 console. My PS2 stopped working went on to buy a PS2 slim the same day just so I can finish recruiting, that how addicting this game was.

Florida State dynasty, 111-55, 3 National Championships
Saint Mary CAS dynasty, 150-3, 6 National Championships, 7 Heisman winners. What do expect when your playing an FCS dynasty.

Ah yes....the days before that dratted momentum meter!! You're right, aside from the deep ball being far too easy to complete (both hum and cpu), that was a very solid game. It was also a significant upgrade in graphics if I remember correctly.

I had no idea about this; can't wait to try it.

I couldn't believe how much better that NCAA '06 was and having all the 1-AA (FCS) teams in the game as opposed to having to use Team Builder. Passing seemed really easy and it seemed possible to turn up the difficulty, without getting terribly frustrated with current generation's "cheap" AI.

2006 isn't my favorite, but it's very close ... the one with Carson Palmer (NCAA Football 2004) on the cover is my personal favorite. It's a shame the XBox can't properly emulate that game. NCAA 2006 is a little slow on the 360, but still playable and very fun and much less aggravating for casual gamers such as myself.

Everyone else feel this way? Without screwing around with sliders, the picks and swats from NCAA 12 made me want to throw my controller across the wall due to linebackers. Sliders have finally made it playable ... but it took tinkering.
04 was the most playable game out of the box. Franchise was not as good as 06 though, and it had the old conferences.

04 with Nebraska the triple option was a thing of beauty. No cheesing, just pure quality gameplay.

Am I the only person on the planet who thinks 07 was the best?

2009 was probably better if they fixed the swarm of bees pursuit angles. I ditched the PS2 version in 2008 after the pursuit angles absolutely killed the game. The only other complaint I had was the filedgoal slider didn't work so all FG's were automatic.
