Re: Mr. Nation's Relegation(Final)

If anyone is interested I'm considering doing an online version of this league. Making it so everyone has to start as a Tier 3..maybe Tier 2 team...

I got around to setting this up last night...it already feels better/different. I took Air Force and made 1 change....good or bad I dunno. I put Idaho in MWC.

Almost had worst case scenario happen to me. The #2 ranked team lost nearly every week allowing Texas Tech to sneak into the title game. Luckily USC rolled over them and calamity was avoided. 2 weeks into second season and top 25 is comprised of all tier 1 schools.

Man I love this set-up. Multiple huge games every week plus most rivals are still played every season.

I must say that I love this setup. Had to do it twice because I replaced Penn State with a cupcake teambuilder version.

I'm playing as Maryland in the Metro Big 10 division.

Big games in week 3:

14 WV at 5 Michigan State
9 LSU at 17 Nebraska
0-1 TCU at 0-1 USC

Game of the Week:
Florida at FSU

There's a bunch more smaller rivalry games already starting. Amped up for the off season already!

Re: Mr. Nation's Relegation(Final)

For all of you who like this style of football, check out the books (audio books\free podcast books) The Rookie, The Starter, and The All-Pro, with The MVP coming out very soon. The books are a combo of this form of "tiered" play mixed with the movie Any Given Sunday and Starship Troopers.

The league works very well in the books. The top teams from T2\3 are moved up and the worst teams from T 1\2 are relegated. This makes for intense "do or die" consequences for every game. The only problem I see is the AI coaches do not know of these consequences in NCAA Football.

Re: Mr. Nation's Relegation(Final)

Week Three Season 1: Had an epic matchup #3 Oregon vs. #4 Oklahoma, Both teams defenses take the day off as they end the first half tied 24 all, Oregon comes out in the second and finds a gear, builds a 45-27 lead early in the fourth, but Oklahoma isnt ready to park the scooner yet and ties the game with 1:30 left in the fourth, but Oregon's offense proves to powerful on this day and they drive for a last second FG, Oregon in a Epic 48-45. Also Alabama which starts the season 0-2 finally gets off the snide and beats a game USF team 24-21. Loving the big matchup weekly, I don't see any one team in Tier 1 going undefeated for a whole season.
