How do you know if a player is a walk on or not in the game?

In last years game I think they had some, I remember at the end of one of my seasons, in post season, I had a few guys that got added to my commit board that I didnt recruit, they were 1 and 2 stars though, thats how I knew I didnt recruit them. And CPU didnt auto recruit them because I turn the assistance option off before each dynasty.

I assumed they were walk-ons

I log all my game, season, and recruiting stats in a book, so when I'm setting up the next season, I know at a glance if there's a walk on.

Also, for many years now, I have been manually generating surnames because I so tired of seeing so many of the same recycled last names on my team and in recruiting. I can only stand so many players on my team with the last name "Williams", for example.

I know this is overboard, but what I do is spend a little time randomly choosing surnames in my local phonebook, then I draw them out of a hat, so to speak, and replace new recruits (the ones who make the cut) with the new, unique names. Enriches my NCAA experience.
